Still in the landscaping business around here
carolgunter

Overnight .4 tenths of rain in the rain gauge.  I was hoping for
more as we are not going to get any rain this upcoming week, according
to the weather people.
Out on our patio this Sunday evening and it is not as hot as it
has been.  The next three or four days to have the daily temperatures
in the eighties and pretty tolerable with the lows at night in the
fifties and sixties.
I am still in the landscaping business around here.  This, I
fear, could be my downfall as I'm not accomplishing a whole lot as I
thought I would.  Will try to tackle this problem of the overgrowth of
bushes after thirty-five or forty years tomorrow.  Sunday is a day of
rest so no work today as the soul and the body need the rest and in my
case it's my body that is hurting the most and needs the most rest.
Got to chat with Ann Warren, Ruth Brown, Mai Nell Melton, Gracie
Bratcher and Burley Bogle this week.  All seemed to be doing pretty
good.
Friends Connie Cantrell, Russell Taylor, Rick and Beverly
Hubler, Sherry Gannon and Rex Pedigo stopping by this week.
Those cigarette commercials are baffling to me here lately as
they keep showing them on the television and what smoking cigarettes
can do to you.  Why not show what drinking can do to you which is far
worse?  People killed and injured so badly in wrecks.  More people
dying from drunk driving than from cigarettes.  Wonder what the
statistics are from people dying from smoking cigarettes compared to
people dying from drinking are?  What a discrepancy.  No one is making
you smoke or drink.  That is your choice. but neither bad habit is
good for your health, but I'm sure you already knew that.  Life here
is short.  The drinking and smoking can make that life shorter.
Please keep in prayer the following people:  Diane Evans, Mary
Melton, Walter and Faye Ferrell, Rose Watts, Tracy Neal, the people of
Israel and Ukraine, the leaders of our country, and the family of
Charlie Mai Daniel in the loss of their dear loved one.
School back in session and I'm sure the kids couldn't wait to
get back into the swing of things.  Probably not, but it usually isn't
too long until they get used to getting back to the grind of getting
up early each school day and loving all that homework that awaits
them.  I can remember those school days and just wishing that summer
vacation could have lasted longer.  We grown-ups need to be thinking
about those school zones and slowing our vehicle down as that is the
law and we don't want any child hurt or worse by our negligence while
driving.  "Kids are so precious."
      Have a great day!

and the God of love and peace shall be with you.  2 Corinthians 13:11
