The idea of a snowman was too tiring

News from the Mountain

Guess it was a snowy blizzard that came your way, too, last Friday. When that snow finally made its arrival here, in no time everything around here had a coat of white and so beautiful as it kept on piling up.

Evergreens all around in every direction being weighed down and over and on the mountain behind our house those trees also have a heavy blanket of snow covering them. What a sight to behold looking out our patio doors. Schools closed Friday, Monday, and Tuesday. So many churches had to cancel services on Sunday. I think we got 6 to 7 inches before the snow ended on Saturday. Fay Pitts my sister-in-law thought we should build a snowman, but the more we got to thinking about it, that would be too much work so we settled on doing the ‘snow angel" thing. Getting help down and help getting up would be our only drawback, so that idea also went out the window. Just seeing the beautiful sight out our window though all that snow really was enough for us. I only wish we could have had this kind of wintry scene at Christmas.

Our prayer list seems to be getting longer as a lot of people need prayer: Luther Lawrence, in trucking accident hauling logs sometime back and is not doing good at all having had two strokes. Do keep Luther in your prayers and also Nina, his wife, and the family. Norris and Bobbye Harrison, Denise Stanton, Ruth Brown, Jody Reedy, Fay Pitts, Chloe Evelyn Bogle, Carlon and Mai Nell Melton, James Stanley and family in the loss of his daughter, Paulette Bain, Patsy Nixon’s mother had a heart attack, Karen Carpenter’s daughter, Shawna had surgery and Charlie Mai Daniels who has not been feeling too good.

If you’re like me, has it occurred to you that with so many of our loved ones leaving us that we take our health sometimes for granted? We should be ever so grateful to God each day and thank Him that we’re able to get out and about to do our daily routine.
