Meeting me at the Smithville Review Tuesday morning was a waterfall of water coming through the front door. I knew we had a problem but, I went to the back door thinking it would be better, but no, same waterfall coming through that door also, long story short, sometime during the night the water heater broke and poured out 4,000 gallons of water in the Review.
Oh what a mess! The damage that is done. It hard enough for this to happen somewhere where you work every day. I just cannot imagine what the families are going through that have lost their homes in West Virginia and other states that have lost homes to flooding.
The thunderstorms that passed through Saturday night were rough. I haven’t seen that much lightning in a long time. Neighbors around me had phone lines down, television boxes to blow up and other things. My phone line went out which caused me to have no internet or television. Just goes to show you we do take things for grant it. I called DTC and they had several calls before me but, I told them we were not in that big of a hurry for someone to climb a pole in this weather. So on Sunday my phone was back in working order which put everything else back in order. I was proud to see my television working, I have to say I did get a little bored. Thank you DTC for fixing my phone!
Celebrating an anniversary this past week was our pastor at New Home Baptist Church, Bro. Bobby Hale and his lovely wife, Ciara. They have also returned home from their vacation in Florida which they all had a wonderful time. We are very proud and thankful for Bro. Bobby and Ciara and little Harper.
We are getting things back in order at the Smithville Review. It will take a while for everything to be fixed we are just proud not to have any more water on the floor.
Take care and take time to enjoy the little things in life.
“Watch therefore for ye know not when the master of the house cometh at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning. Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.” (Mark 13: 35,36,37)
