Memorial services for Mrs. Barbara Ellen Dost, 83, of Cookeville were held Saturday, Sept. 21 at the chapel of Hooper Huddleston  and     Horner Funeral Home. Reverend Dwight Henry officiated.
 Mrs. Dost died Sunday, Sept.15 at home in Cookeville surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Nov. 7, 1929 in Merrill, MI to the late Chauncey and Ruth Witchi Shebester.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mathew John Dost; son, John Dost; and brother, Joseph Shebester.
Barbara was gifted with a loving, kind, caring, compassionate, and accepting personality. She naturally thought of others first and put their needs ahead of her own. She was a  blessing to her entire family.
She loved reading to take her away to exotic places, watching  game shows to challenge her mind and taking long walks with her family to enjoy nature and keep fit.
She is survived by two daughters and son-in-laws, Diane and Jim Loy of Smithville, Gail and David Gentry of Cookeville; sister, Mary Dost of Fair Play, SC; brother and sister-in-law, Melvin and Dorothy Shebester of Crescent City, Fl; numerous nieces and nephews; and special pet dog, Harley.
Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home, Cookeville, TN was in charge of arrangements.
