Funeral services for Benjamin Clifton Poss, 82, of Madison were held June 29 at the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bro. Dwight Knowles and Bro. Dennis Woods officiated with burial following with Military honors and Fire Department honors at DeKalb Memorial Gardens.
He passed away June 25 at Skyline Medical Center.
He was a member of the Mt. View The Baptist Church, retired from Nashville Electric Service. He was a avid fisherman, Atlanta Braves and University of Tennessee fan. He was also a U.S. Air Force Veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David Everett and Wilma Taylor Poss; brothers, William Herbert Poss, Joe Ben Poss, and Mason Poss.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Peggy Joyce Bates Poss; sons, Danny (Pamela) Poss, Terry (Jill) Poss, Teddy Poss; daughter, Wanda Dickens; brothers, Dean Poss and Glynn Poss; grandchildren, Justin (Jessica) Poss, Jillian (Dennis) Tollison, Brittany (Courtney) Cagle, Ashleigh (Austin) Hines, Benjamin Brooks, Halleigh Poss, Taylor Poss, Zachary Poss; great-grandchildren, Brileigh Poss, Braxton Poss, Mason Poss, Carter Tollison; four legged child, Smokey; special care giver, Cindy Gabbert; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Pallebearers included; Justin Poss, Benjamin Brooks, Zachary Poss, Taylor Poss, Byron Poss, Darrell Poss, Jimmy Dickens, and Gary Taylor.
Honorary Pallbearers; included the Smithville Fire Department.
Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, Smithville, Tenn., was in charge of the arrangements.
