Funeral services for Billy Edward Martin, 71, of Smithville were held Jan. 3 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel.  Bro. Mike Clayborn officiated, with burial following at DeKalb Cemetery .
Mr. Martin passed away Dec. 30 at his residence. He was a retired steel worker and a Baptist.
He was the son of the late John H. and Daisy Clayborn Martin.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Daniel Martin.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Gloria Jean Martin of Smithville; three children, Douglas L. Martin of Smithville, Donald Wayne Martin of Smithville, and Lisa K. Martin of Phoenix, AZ; four grandchildren, Phillip, Cody, Martha and Laura; three great grandchildren, Cayden, Phillip Jr., and Aden; brother, James Martin of Smithville; sisters, Carolyn Sanders of Henderson, TX, Peggy Smith of Nashville, and Ginger Steinbach of Smithville.
Pallbearers included; Cody Martin, Phillip Martin, Douglas Martin, Donald Martin, Lynn Ferrell, Anthony Hale and Brayden Ferrell.
DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville, was in charge of arrangements.
