Boyd E. Atnip, age 94, of Smithville went home to be with Jesus on Friday, February 18, 2022. Boyd was born on September 17, 1927 to the late Lonnie and Eliza Atnip.

 Boyd worked hard his whole life, loved his family, and loved the Lord. He was a faithful member of the Church of God for many years and then a faithful member of the Assembly of God. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Eliza Atnip; brother, T.C. (Virginia) Atnip; sister, Mary Ann Yarmin; daughter in law, Lori Atnip; and great grandson, Elias Atnip. Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Emogene Atnip; son, Dennis Atnip; grandsons Eric and Elizabeth Atnip, and Jordan and Morgan Atnip; great grandchildren Savory and Neveah Brown, Wyatt Atnip, and Jude Atnip; nieces and nephews Maxine Pritchett, Phillip Atnip, Wanda Parker, Debbie Driver, and Robin Goodbread.

Funeral service was held Sunday, February 20, 2022 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with his grandson, Jordan Atnip officiating. Burial followed in DeKalb Memorial Gardens

 Pallbearers included Bradley Barrett, Matthew Colwell, Dustin Estes, Justin Nokes, Danny Pirtle, and Jimbo Williams.
