Carolyn Fay Chapman, age 72, passed away Thursday evening June 9, 2023 at Generations Healthcare Center of Spencer.

She attended Snow Hill Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

She was born July 15, 1950 to her parents, the late Wilburn and Margaret Miller Washer. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by sister, Brenda Robinson; brothers, Jimmy Washer and Staley Washer.

She is survived by two children, Cameron Dunn of Smithville and Tracey Dunn of McMinnville; two grandchildren, Memphis and Paiton; two great-grandchildren, Paisley and Noah Crook; daughter-in-law, Sandy Dunn of Smithville; three brothers, Doyle (Marie) Washer, Billy (Sharon) Washer, and Bobby Washer all of Smithville; five sisters, Ada (Jimmy) Qualls of Morrison, Linda Evans, Claudean (Darrell) Pedigo, Cathy Henry, and Betty (Robert) Lawson all of Smithville.

Funeral service was held Monday June12, 2023 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Frank Bratcher officiating and burial followed in DeKalb Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers included Joshua Crook, Braxton Linder, Gabriel Washer, Logan Smith, and CJ Lewis, Michael Washer.

The family ask in lieu of flowers donations be made to DeKalb Funeral Chapel to help with funeral expenses.

DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville, was in charge of arrangements.
