Hawkins

Clara Mae Hawkins age 94 of Smithville, passed away Saturday night, July 30, 2016 at NHC HealthCare Center in Smithville.

She was born December 22, 1921 to her parents, the late George and Sally Bell Miller Beshearse.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Shelton Hawkins; 1 daughter, Joan Hawkins; 2 sons, Kenneth Hawkins and Freddie Johnson; 1 grandson, Eric Hawkins; 2 sisters, Ludean Wright and Lois Hibdon; 2 brothers, James and Virgil Beshearse.

Ms. Clara Mae was a retired factory worker and a member of New Home Baptist Church.

Survivors include 6 children, Queda Ferrell, Phillip (Ann) Hawkins, Don (Treba) Hawkins, Ronnie (Linda) Hawkins and Beverly (Marshall) Ferrell all of Smithville and Brenda (Jack) Herman of Cookeville; 2 daughter-in-laws, Elaine Hawkins of Lebanon and Betty Johnson of Woodbury; 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren; 1 sister-in-law, Nell Beshearse.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel.

Bros. Danny Bandy and Larry Thomas officiated with burial following in Banks Cemetery.

Pallbearers included; Mark Herman, Kevin Herman, Darel Hawkins, Jonathon Hawkins, Trent Hawkins, Chris Hawkins, Chase Ferrell, and Seth Wright.

DeKalb Funeral Chapel, was in charge of the arrangements.
