Connie Siebert, 67, formerly of Smithville passed away on September 21, 2022.
She was born on April 13,1955 in Belleville, IL, the oldest daughter of Kermit (Jim) Siebert, Jr. and Judy Wentworth SIEBERT, both of whom have preceded her in death.
Connie graduated from Belleville East H.S. in 1973 and Belleville Area College prior to entering the U. S. Air Force in 1975 as one of the first female aircraft mechanics. Connie thrived in her twenty years of service, spending fourteen years at Spangdahlem AFB in Germany and was a Desert Storm veteran. Travels took her to Saudi Arabia, Italy and Turkey along with nine other European countries. She primarily worked on jet fighters: F-4s, F-16s, F-111s as well as T-37s and A-10s. Upon her retirement at Nellis AFB in NM in 1995, her rank of TSgt.
Civilian life took her to Tennessee, working first at Skiroki, NA in Smithville and most recently at Autokiniton in Lebanon where she just celebrated her 10-yr. anniversary.
Connie enjoyed Renaissance festivals taking her to many surrounding states. She also enjoyed drawing, wire sculpturing, sewing, hiking, camping and spelunking.
Connie loved God and her church where she had been a member for 25 years. She enjoyed the fellowship of her friends and was always willing to lend a hand for any task. Her family is comforted to know she is “Safely Home in Heaven”.
She is survived by sisters Gail (Darrell) Voorhees of Brighton, IL; Penny (Charlie) Little of Crossville; niece Heather (Robert) and great niece Mara, all of Foristell, MO.
Her memorial service was held at Faith Assembly of God Church in Crossville. TSgt. Siebert’s ashes were interned in the Nashville National Cemetery with military honors.
