Funeral services for James "Jimmy" Curtis, 86, of Alexandria were held Sept. 8 at the First Baptist Church in Alexandria. Bro. Thurman Seber officiated, with burial following in Hillview Cemetery.

 

He passed away September 5 at UMC Hospital in Lebanon.

 

He was born February 10, 1928 in DeKalb County. His parents were James Thomas Curtis and Sarah Neal Curtis.

 

He was a farmer and was affiliated with the Lower Helton The Baptist Church.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Flora Katherine Curtis; brother; Johnnie H. Curtis; sisters; Gladys L. Driver, Mary Cason, and Mattie Frances Malone.

 

He is survived by his children; Bennie (Debbie) Curtis of Alexandria, Sandra (Gary ) Councill of St. Petersburg, Florida, Laurie Curtis of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Brandon Keith, Chad Curtis, Ty Curtis, Jesse Councill, and Caroline Councill; brothers and sisters; Gracie Henley, Ralph (Faye) Curtis, Amy Johnson all of Alexandria, and Roy D. (Linda) Curtis of Watertown; several nieces and nephews also survive.

 

Anderson Funeral Home, Alexandria, Tenn., was in charge of the arrangements
