Doris Ann Hullett
Doris Hullett

Doris Ann Hullett, the mother of Apryl Snider Valentino (Chris Valentino), passed from this life on February 7, 2022 while surrounded by her family and loving companion Aaron Hester.

Doris was born August 2, 1946 to her loving parents the late Ewin and Ada Hicks. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Stevie and Jackie Snider; brothers, Tom, Billi and Ewin Hicks, Jr.; sisters, Ruby Johnson, Virginia Atnip and Jean Hicks.

She was a member of Smithville First Baptist Church and was known throughout the community for her delicious cooking served with sarcasm and a smile. You may have known her for the mischievous acts from rolling yards and pranks played in stores. Not a week went by that a joke wasn't played on some unsuspecting soul. Doris's greatest adventure happened each spring when the weather would fair and the sales began. It would be easy to run into her at a yard sale and without fail share a laugh and a hug.

Cherished grandmother of Marla, Trent, Brandi, Carlie, Jayce, Emily and Christian; great-grandmother to Trey, Seth, Keira, Kylie, Adden, Collin, Avery, Daniel and Carson. Remembered by her many nieces and nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Funeral service was held Thursday, February 10, 2022 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Shane Smith and Bro. Michael Hale officiating. Burial followed in DeKalb Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers included Jayce Snider, Christian Smith, Joseph Hicks, Ryan Mayfield, Ryan Black, and Grayson Mayfield.

Donations may be made to Lighthouse Christian Camp in memorial of Ms. Doris.

DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville, was in charge of arrangements.
