Doris Evelyn Caldwell, age 80, of Smithville  went to her heavenly home peacefully on Monday, March 17, 2025 at Signature Healthcare in Putnam County.

She was born and raised in Hohenwald and moved to Smithville in 1969. Doris was a member of the Brethren in Christ and retired after 35 years from Kingston Timers. She was a devout Christian and a loving, dedicated mother and grandmother. She loved her family and doted on them, especially her son, Eddie. She loved her church family and dear friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Louise Martin; Her husband of 64 years, Cordell Caldwell; daughter, Sandy Caldwell Rhoady; and special granddaughter, Tabitha Taylor Young. 

Survivors include her son, Eddie Caldwell (Misty Wilson); sister-in-law, Shirley Caldwell all of Smithville; cousins, Patsy Smith of Bell Buckle, Peggy Stacy and Judy Bates both of Gallatin; special friends; Larry (Reta) Steffee, Amanda Knowles and Eva Dover all of Smithville.

Funeral service was held Friday, March 21, 2025 in the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bro. Larry Steffee officiated and burial followed in DeKalb Memorial Gardens.
