Emma Jean Parker Vanatta of the Snow Hill Community, passed away Tuesday morning, October 22, 2024 at NHC HealthCare of Smithville. 

She was a homemaker and a Baptist. 

She was born in Liberty to her parents, the late Euen Everett and Effie Viola Gilley Parker.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. "Buck" Vanatta; sister, Aunia Bell Vanatta and nephew, Kennith Vanatta. 

She is survived by extended family and friends. 

Funeral services was held Thursday, October 24, 2024 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Michael Hale officiating and burial followed in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. 

Pallbearers were Jeff Vanatta, Dr. Robert R. Atnip, Trevor Shim, Shannon Estes, and Bobby Wheeler.

DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
