Lockhart
Floyd Eugene "Gene" Lockhart, age 62, of Smithville, passed away Tuesday evening April 17, 2018 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro.
He was born April 14, 1955 in Rutherford County. He attended New Life United Pentecostal Church and was a cabinet shop worker.
Gene was preceded in death by his mother, Ina Marie Dillon, step-father, James Dillon, adoptive father, Richard Lockhart; two step-mothers, Frances Lockhart and Reba Lane and special friend, Sharon Thompson.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine Lockhart of Smithville; five children, Ashley (Scott) Cantrell of Smithville, Jay Lockhart of Readyville, Sean, Jason and Tony Skaroupka all of Smithville; adopted son, Bruce Cantrell of Smithville; eight grandchildren, William and Kaitlyn Farley, Kevin Felts, Bailey Bond, Blake Bond, Kelie Reeder, Quinten Lawrence and Ricky Skaroupka; father, Floyd Lane of Smyrna; five brothers, Tulley Lane of Murfreesboro, Ronnie Lane of Smyrna, Randy Lane of Murfreesboro, Mike Lane of Murfreesboro and Jon Newsome of Smyrna; three sisters, Connie Lane Warner of Eagleville, Annette Lane of Murfreesboro and Missy Lane of Murfreesboro; special friends, Nelda Pitts, Darlene Cantrell, Tim Segal, Oz Segal and Goob Segal; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Graveside services and interment were held Friday, April 20, 2018 at DeKalb Cemetery.
Family and friends served as pallbearers.
DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
