Gary Fuson

Gary Lee Fuson, age 77, of Smithville passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at his residence. 

 

Mr. Fuson was a police officer, U.S. Army veteran, member of the Am Vets Post 101 and American Legion Post 122. 

 

 

He was born March 8, 1947, to his parents, the late Luther Lee and Robbie Bennett Fuson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Kimberly Fuson; son, Gary Lee Fuson, II; daughter, Danealle Pace and sister, Paula Smith. 

 

 

He is survived by children, William (Sarah) Fuson of Smithville, Nicole (Robert) Bruhn of Dowelltown, Maria Fuson of Virginia, Michael Morris of Smithville and James Fuson of Alabama; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; special caregivers, Brandi and Elizabeth from Adoration. 

 

Funeral service was held Saturday, March 30, 2024, at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Michael Hale officiating and burial followed in Bonham Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Veterans Honor Guard. 

 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Am Vets Post 101 or American Legion Post 122 in memory of Mr. Fuson. 

 

Pallbearers included Billy Fuson, Robert Bruhn, Waylon West, Cody Pace, Michael Morris, and Dane Holeton.

 

DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
