Ashford

Jerry Allen Ashford age 43 of Smithville passed away Tuesday night, September 27, 2016 at St. Thomas DeKalb Hospital ER.  He was born April 26, 1973 to his parents, the late James Edward Ashford and Edna Mai Burton Ashford.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Jimmy Ashford, Timmy Ashford and Gary Cantrell; 1 sister, Tina Marie Cantrell; and 2 brothers-in-law, Jimmy Mullican and Jerry Cantrell.  Jerry attended the Smithville Cumberland Presbyterian Church, was a former grave digger and disabled.

He is survived by his wife, Jamie Ashford of Smithville; daughter, Renny (Ryan) Young of Smithville; son, John Ashford of Smithville; step-son, DJ Mason of Smithville; 1 grandson, Wyatt James Mason; mother, Edna Ashford of Smithville; 3 sisters, Gail Mullican, Barbara (Steve) Green and Rhonda Cantrell all of Smithville; mother-in-law, Renny (David) Stinson of Dickson; father-in-law, Jimmy (Jenny) Atnip of Baxter;  3 sisters-in-law, Felicia Cantrell of Murfreesboro, Jennifer (Ed) White of Smithville and Megan Stinson of Sevierville; 2 brothers-in-law, Jimmy Atnip (Stephanie Barber) of Smithville and Derek Stinson of Sevierville. 

Funeral services were conducted Friday, September 30, 2016 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel.  Bro. Isaac Gray officiated with burial following in Hale CemeteryIn lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to DeKalb Funeral Chapel to help with funeral expenses.

DeKalb Funeral Chapel, was in charge of the arrangements.
