Jimmy Harlan McCloud, born on August 1, 1959, in Putnam County, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2024, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He is lovingly remembered for his steadfast dedication to his family and his tireless work ethic.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Vhonda Melton McCloud of Cookeville; his son, Harlan (Amanda) McCloud of Smithville; his daughter, Jenny (Bud) Bogle of Smithville; brother OJ (Barbara) McCloud of Overton County; sister Vanessa (Robert) Lee of Cookeville; adopted daughter Melissa Mathis of Smithville; and his cherished grandchildren, Hailey (and fiancé, Noah), Brooklyn, Brayden Levi Bogle, the eagerly awaited Holden Ray McCloud; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mr. McCloud was preceded in death by his father, JT McCloud; mother, Avannah Dunn LaCourse; step-father, David LaCourse; and three brothers, Darrel, Ernest, and Renea McCloud.

Jimmy dedicated 37 years of his life to the roofing industry, working at Cookeville Sheet Metal. Known as a simple man, he took great satisfaction in the essential, unadorned joys of life. He will be fondly remembered as a man who built not just roofs but also a legacy of love and commitment to those he cherished.

Mr. McCloud's wishes for cremation are being honored.

A memorial service was held Sunday, June 9, 2024 with Pastor Darrell Gill officiating.

The family suggest memorial contributions be made to the funeral home to go toward final expenses.

The Dyer Chapel of Hooper, Huddleston & Horner, Cookeville, was in charge of arrangements.
