Kenneth Wayne Owens, age 79, of Dowelltown passed away Tuesday night, December 29, 2020 at St. Thomas DeKalb Hospital ER. 

 He was a Baptist, U.S. Army Veteran and worked at Nissan for over 30 years. 

 He was born July 22, 1941 in London, KY to her parents, the late Lewis and Retha Sharp Owens.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four siblings, Kelly Owens, Elbert Owens, Lizzie Owens and Johnny Owens. 

 He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jean Owens of Dowelltown; 4 children, Michelle Curtis of Dowelltown, Patrick Conners and Michael Conners both of Smithville and Teresa Owens of Kentucky; grandchildren, Crystal (James) Bogard, Cody Curtis, Colton Curtis, Destiny Conners, Mikey Conners and Ashley; great-granddaughters, Hannah Bogard, Brooklyn Barnes, Carissa, Brennon and Rachel; brother, Henry (Gail) Owens of Kentucky and sister, Letha (Glen) Price of Indiana; special friends, Doug and April Barnes . 

 Graveside service was held Saturday, January 2, 2021 at DeKalb Cemetery with Bro. Michael Hale officiating and military honors conducted by the Veterans Honor Guard. 

 Family served as pallbearers.

 DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
