Kolby Layne Jacobs, age 18, of Smithville passed away Sunday, August 18, 2024, in Sewanee, TN. 

He was born July 3, 2006, to his mother Quastaia Braswell. 

Kolby was preceded in death by grandfather, Steve Braswell; two great grandfathers, Harold Elrod and Billy Braswell. 

Survivors include his mother, Quastaia Braswell of Smithville; sister, Kaylee (Breydan) Hutchings of Sparta; brother, Alvie Rango Byars; maternal grandmother, Lisa Church of Smithville; maternal great grandmothers, Fay Elrod of Smithville and  Retha Braswell of Dowelltown; aunt, Ashley Pierrot of Raleigh, NC; uncle, Aaron Braswell; nephew, Cason Hutchings. 

Funeral service was held Thursday, August 22, 2024 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Ken Lewis officiating and burial to followed in Salem Cemetery. 

Pallbearers: Austin Callahan, Ernest Dodd, Carl Jackson, Breydan Hutchings, Michael Valdivia, Tyler Summers.

DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
