Funeral services for Lemuel E. Beene, 73, of Liberty, were held Jan. 20 at Liberty United Methodist Church in Charlotte, Tenn. Burial services were held in Liberty Cemetery in Charlotte, Tenn.    
Mr. Beene passed away Jan. 17 in DeKalb Community Hospital. He was born April 9, 1938 in Dickson County to the late Joseph Lemuel Beene and Ailene Southerland Beene. Mr. Beene was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church, Charlotte.  
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sue Vaughn.
Survivors include his daughter, Tina (Gary) Johnson of Naperville, Ill.; grandchildren, Ashley Johnson  and Dillion (Amber) Johnson, all of Illinois; a brother, Edward Beene of Liberty; a sister, Pat Underwood of Lebanon; a nephew, Joseph (Mary) Underwood of Nashville; a niece, Courtney Vaughn of Vanleer; and a great-nephew, George Underwood of Nashville.
Anderson Funeral Home, Alexandria, was in charge of the arrangements.
