Martha Jean Griffin Hendrix Hall, 75, of Smithville, passed away Tuesday night, June 19 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.
She was born June 11, 1943 to her parents, the late Rollins and Mary Elizabeth Madry Griffin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Cassie Hendrix and a sister, Pat Wade. She was a self-employed dog groomer.
She leaves to cherish her memory, three children, Gina (Jack) Wheeler of Murfreesboro, Phillip (Jing) Hendrix, Jr. of Birmingham, Ala., and Inga (Darrell) Johnson of Liberty; 13 grandchildren, Keshia (Thomas) Hale, Gabriel (Kyle) Robinson, Noah Byford, Justin Johnson, Eli Johnson, Carlie Sullivan, Zack Sullivan, Annie, Abbie, Allie and Jack Wheeler, Zhi Hendrix and Dylan (Kimberly) Sullivan; six great-grandchildren, Layne, Leighton, and Landry Hale, Daniel Brandt, Kylee Robinson, Aria Sullivan; two brothers, James Gary (Debbie) Griffin of Huntsville, AL and Johnny Falcon (Julie) Griffin of Decatur, Ala.; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside service and interment was held Monday, June 25 at the Roselawn Cemetery in Decatur, Ala., with Thomas Hale officiating. Family members served as pallbearers. A celebration of life service was held June 24 at the Liberty United Methodist Church.
DeKalb Funeral Chapel of Smithville was in charge of the arrangements.
