Billings, age 49, of the Johnson Chapel Community of DeKalb County passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

He was a member of the Johnson Chapel Free Will Baptist Church and a retired Detective of the DeKalb County Sheriff's Department.

Funeral service was held Monday, May 16, 2018 at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Jackie Miller and Bernard Houk officiated with burial following in Johnson Chapel Cemetery.

Mike was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ernest and Edith Cantrell and Ray and Clara Billings.

Survivors include his parents, R.V. and Brenda Billings of DeKalb County; an aunt, Phyllis Cantrell Malone; special aunts, Janice Cantrell and Deborah Cantrell Luna of DeKalb County, Frances Billings of Warren County, and Alma Billings of DeKalb County; and an uncle, Claude Billings of DeKalb County.

Serving as pallbearers were Mark Cantrell, Tim Cantrell, Terry Rice, Andy Cantrell, Keith Billings, Steve Billings, Wyatt Ellis and David McShane.

Honorary pallbearers included friends and neighbors, Johnson Chapel Baptist Church family, the DeKalb County Volunteer Fire Department, EMT, Sheriff’s Department and previous coworkers.

Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
