Morris Clifford Turner, 91, of Smithville died Sunday at NHC of Smithville. He was a Mason and Shriner; a member of the First United Methodist Church in Smithville; and he was retired from Kingston Timers. The funeral was held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Dr. John Carpenter will officiated with burial following in DeKalb Memorial Gardens.

 

Turner was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Paris and Eller Victoria Patterson Turner; wife, Ruth Jean Paris Turner; three brothers, Aubrey, Wilson, and Donald Turner.

 

Survivors include a son, Bobby Turner of McMinnville. Two granddaughters, Ashley and Brandy Turner of Smithville. Four brothers, Johnny and Mildred Turner of Smithville, Kenneth and Ann Turner of Granville, David Turner of Nashville, and Sam Turner of Cookeville. Two sisters, Nina Ruth Puckett of Lebanon and Sue McGuire of Nashville. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

 

Pallbearers included; David Turner III, Barry and Bill Turner, Todd Redmon, Chris Solloman, Dudley Puckett and Michael Solloman.

 

In addition to flowers, donations may be made to Whorton Springs Cemetery Fund.

 

Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, was in charge of the arrangements.
