Mr. Billy Wayne Edwards, age 79, of Murfreesboro passed away on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Ascension St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital. 

Mr. Edwards was born on May 7, 1942 in Athens, AL to his parents, the late Jesse Edwards & Nora Thompson Fasig. Also preceding him in death is a son, Dustin Edwards. Mr. Edwards served in the United States Army as a Data Processor and was of the Baptist faith. 

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Kathy Johnson Edwards of Murfreesboro, ; children, Nikki (Nolan) Harrell of Murfreesboro, Allison (Corey) Bryant of McMinnville, Lance (Kim) Edwards of Summertown, Karlee Bailey of Hendersonville,  and Garth (Deede) Edwards of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Chad Adams, Chase Edwards, Brianna Harrell, Taylor Harrell, Bryce Harrell, Noah Bryant, Robert Wayne Edwards and Luke Underwood; siblings, Mark Edwards and Beverly Fasig both of Hartsville. 

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Lighthouse Christian Camp or to the charity of your choice in memory of Mr. Edwards.  

Funeral service was held Wednesday, January 5, 2022 from the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bro. Bill Robertson and Bro. Scott Pack officiated with burial following at Mt. Holly Cemetery with full military honors.

Donations can be made to the Lighthouse Christian Camp or to the charity of your choice in memory of Mr. Edwards.
