R.L. Redmon

Mr. R. L. Redmon, age 92 of Smithville passed away Saturday evening, March 5, 2022 at NHC of McMinnville.

 

Mr. Redmon was born on January 20, 1930 in McMinnville to his parents, the late Matt and Willie Ellen Warren Redmon. Also preceding him in death was his son, Jerry Redmon; four sisters, Magadlene Emberton, Frances Hendrixson, Louise Braswell, and Cilla Mae Redmon; one brother, Charlie Redmon.

 

He was self employed as a Carpenter and had worked as a Nurseryman. Mr. Redmon was a member of the Smithville Assembly of God. 

 

Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Earlene Bratcher Redmon. two Daughters, Patricia (Amon) Cantrell and Donna (Bob) Smith all of Smithville;  six grandchildren, Jeremy (Carrie) Cantrell of Smithville,  Tanna (Roan) Crain of Cookeville,  Sue Jared of Sparta, Sara (Aaron) Young of Smithville, Josh (Tera) Redmon of KY and Danielle Bowling of Elizabethton; 12 great grandchildren, Maggie Crain, Caiden Crain and MiLee Crain all of Cookeville, Zackary and Jace Cantrell both of Smithville,  Luke and Lela Young both of Smithville, Josie and Piper Redmon both of KY, Jason, and Addison and Mason Bowling of Elizabethton.

 

Funeral service was held on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bro. Bill Robertson officiated and burial followed at DeKalb Memorial Gardens.  

 

Pallbearers included Jermey and Zackary Cantrell, Roan and Caiden Crain, Aaron Young and Josh Redmon. Honorary pallbearers were his great-grandchildren.

 

Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
