Mrs. Dorothy Young Hale, age 88, of Smithville passed away Monday afternoon, June 8, 2020 at St. Thomas DeKalb Hospital.
She was born on May 14, 1932 in DeKalb County to her parents, the late Dibrell and Lula Curtis Young. Also preceding her in death are her 2two brothers, Hugh Morris Young and John Robert Young. She was a member of Elizabeth Chapel Baptist Church, she was a former Avon Representative and was retired from Kingston Timers.
Survivors include her daughter, Pamela Hale; a son, Craig Hale both of Smithville; sister, Bessie Hendrix of Smithville; sister-in-law, Mary Young of Smithville. Several nieces, nephews, and special friends, Brenda Anderson and Edie Lasser, both of Smithville, also survive.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2020 the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bro. Joel Wood and Bro. Bill Robertson officiated with burial following at DeKalb Memorial Gardens.
Serving as pallbearers were David Rigsby, Hayden Rigsby, Michael Hendrix, Alan Hayes, Terry Young, and Danny Hale.
Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, Smithville, was in charge of arrangements.
