Ms. Barbara Gard, age 85, of Smithville passed away Monday night, January 10, 2022 at NHC Healthcare of Smithville.
Ms. Barbara was born on October 19, 1936 in Silver Point to her parents, the late Mahlon and Elease Florida Haggard. Also preceding her in death is her husband, Ronald Gard and a grandchild, Christopher Gunter.
She was a Hairdresser at Barbara's Beauty Box and was a lifelong member of Allens Chapel United Methodist Church where she was a Lay Speaker and Sunday School Teacher.
Funeral service was held on Friday, January 14, 2022 at Allens Chapel United Methodist Church. Bro. Phil Tollett and Bro. Ronnie Neal officiated with burial followed at Gard Cemetery.
Survivors include her daughters, Wanda (Mark) Lemmons of Cookeville, Linda Thomas of Smithville, Kathy Neal of Smithville, Janet (Kevin) Cecil of Arrington, and Betsy (Cliff) Smith of Alexandria; grandchildren, Michael (Tonya) Smith of Rock Island, Ronnie (Samantha) Neal, Jacob (Lacey) Smith and Joshua Gunter all of Cookeville, Weston (Emily) Cecil of Portland, Ben Cecil of Nashville, Luke (Elisabeth) Cecil of Denver, CO, Patrick Kinnaird of Clarksville, Andy Checchi of Smithville, Rebekah Cecil and Maggie Cecil both of Arrington; Thirteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Pallbearers included Michael Smith, Jacob Smith, Josh Gunter, Weston Cecil, Ronnie Neal and Cliff Smith.
Donations can be made to the Ronnie Gard Memorial at Allens Chapel Church in memory of Ms. Barbara.
