Funeral services for Nathan Estes, 38, of Smithville were held on Sept. 28 at the chapel of Love- Cantrell Funeral Home. Bro. Dwight Knowles and Bro. Gary McBride officiated with burial following at DeKalb Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Estes passed away Sept. 24 at Riverview Regional Medical Center in Smith County.
He worked as a miner at Nyrstar Zinc Mine in Smith County and  was a member of Mt. Hope The Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, John Estes; and maternal grandparents, Sterling and Roberta Martin.
He is survived by his mother, Rita Estes Martin; father, Phillip  and (Billie Estes); three brother, Andy (Emily) Estes, Dustin Estes and Gage Estes all of Smithville; two step-sisters, Tammy Eaton of Watertown and Penny Edwards of Smithville; one step-brother Stephen Patterson of Smithville; paternal grandmother, Eleaise Estes of Liberty; aunt Donna (Dwight) Knowles of Smithville; uncle Russel Estes of Dowelltown; niece, Andrea Kate Estes of Smithville;  and special loved one Makayla Cornett Bain of Smithville.
Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, in Smithville, was in charge of arrangements.
