Paul Herman Caldwell, age 70 of Smithville, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2019 at his residence. He was a member of the New Life Pentecostal Church, a nurseryman, and he worked at Federal Mogul.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Caney and Clara Mae Lawson Caldwell.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years Opal Virginia Caldwell; two sons, Marcus Caldwell and Michael and Diana Caldwell all of Smithville; grandchildren, Ashly Caldwell, Drew and Shelby Caldwell, and Isaac Caldwell; a brother, Ricky and Brenda Caldwell; four sisters, Mildred Judkins, Jodie Cole, Patricia Graves, and Evelyn and Terry Lawson; six great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

The funeral was held Friday, Sept. 20, 2019 at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Dewayne Cornelius officiated with burial following in Whorton Springs Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were Jason Lattimore, Justin Lattimore, Jared Briesmeister, Jordan Brie, BJ Alvason, Johnny Lattimore, Drew Caldwell and Ashley Caldwell.

Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
