Peggy Stewart, age 71, of Smithville passed away Sunday afternoon April 22, 2018 at St. Thomas West Hospital.
She was born March 12, 1947 to her parents, the late Gentry Edward Cantrell and Mary Elizabeth Cantrell Priest. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ricky Lynn Cantrell and Eddie "Buck" Cantrell and a daughter-in-law, Tina Young.
She was the co-owner of Stewart Auto Grooming and a member of Mt. View Primitive Baptist Church. Peggy's real enjoyment was the Toys for Tots Ride she organized for over 15 years.
Peggy leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 39 years, Phillip Stewart of Smithville; three children, Salana Letsinger of Florence, AL, Joe Young of Smithville and Brian (Cindy) Young of Greenbrier; five grandchildren, Brittany Faith Letsinger, Spencer Mason Letsinger, Alanna (Brandon) Jones, Cody Lane Lawrence and Emma Leigh Ashford; five great-grandchildren, Brandon Jones, Jr., Addison Jones, Ronald "Zeke" Jones, Raylyn Renee Lawrence and Hazley Lane Lawrence; one sister, Barbara Farmer of Smyrna and one niece, Sundi Blanchard of Smyrna.
Funeral service was conducted Thursday afternoon, April 26, 2018 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Michael Hale officiating. Burial followed in Cantrell Cemetery.
Pallbearers included Harvey Cantrell, Clifford Cantrell, Jimmy Cantrell, Charlie Preston, Kyle Cantrell, and Spencer Letsinger. Shelia Herron, David and Cathy Rankhorn served as honorary pallbearers.
DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
