Funeral services for Reed Allen Redmon, 78, of Smithville, were held Oct. 31 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Bro. Michael Hale officiated with burial following in Whorton Springs Cemetery.   
Mr. Redmon passed away Oct. 29 at Centennial Medical Center. He worked 29 years at Carrier, was in the carrier Steel Workers Union and affiliated with the Baptist Church. 
 He was preceded in death by his parents, Hershel and Amie Barks Redmon; wife, Frances Joyce Hawkins Redmon; three children, Marlene, James and Glen Redmon; sisters, Beulah Caldwell, Mary Walker, Marnie Driver, Sadie Sandlin, Ravenell Milburn and Ella Mai Jones; and brothers, Rex, Ralph and Louis Redmon.
Survivors include two children, Peggy (Timmie) Adcock, of Smithville, and David (Maria) Redmon, of Michigan; grandchildren, David Jr. (Heather) Redmon, Matthew Redmon, Tina (Mhill) Marku, Simon (Traci) Camaj and Rob (Scarlett) Camaj; a brother, Ernest (Linda) Redmon, of McMinnville; and special nieces, Donna (Jeremy) Green, Christie Cawthorn, and Carolyn Caldwell.
Pallbearers included Lanny Sandlin, Nelson Sandlin, Jeremy Green, Tommy Redmon, Jr. Redmon, Matt Redmon, Joe Wayne Driver and Jay Driver.
DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
