Richard Barry Edmonds, age 49, of Alexandria died Tuesday, January. 10, 2023 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital.

He was a machine operator for S&W Manufacturing. Edmonds graduated from DeKalb County High School and attended Cumberland University. He was an active member of the band in high school and college.

He is survived by his parents, William and Jean Ferrell Edmonds of Alexandria; a sister, Mary Edmonds (Savas) Polat; a niece, Reyna Polat; along with aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral service was held Thursday, January 12, 2023at the chapel of Anderson Funeral Home. Dusty Desimone officiated and burial followed in the Jennings Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations in his name be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital, or the Disabled American Veterans.

Anderson Funeral Home, Alexandria, was in charge of the arrangements.
