Richard David Driver, age 73, passed away March 29, 2022 at his residence in Smithville.

He was born June 13, 1948 to his parents, the late Richard and Nettie May Bates Driver. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sister, Jennie Mai Martin Lassiter.

David was a member of Smithville First Freewill Baptist Church and worked at DeKalb Farmers Co-op for 34 years.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Shirley Driver of Smithville; children, Jennie Driver and Darrell Adkins of Smithville, David Eugene Driver of Smithville, Gail Driver and Joseph Jenkins of Smithville; grandchildren, Gregory Hooper, Lindsay Michelle Woodlee, Tasha K. Jenkins, Jerrica and Hunter Wilkins; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Frank Don Driver of Smithville.

Funeral service was held Friday April 1, 2022 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Bernard Houk and Bro. Michael Hale officiated. Burial followed in DeKalb Cemetery.

Pallbearers included Greg Hooper, Hunter Wilkins, Eugene Driver, Charles Drake, Darrell Adkins, and Michael Woodley.

DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville, was in charge of arrangements.
