Richard Pollard, 50, of Smithville, passed away Thursday morning at St. Thomas DeKalb ER.

He was born April 5, 1965 to his parents, the late Jessie “Junior” Pollard and Helen Pack Pollard.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Nettie Pack and Phermon Pack and Willie Lee and Zonnie Pollard.

Richard was a member of the House of Prayer and was a former employee of Federal Mogul.

Survivors include his loving wife, Janice Pollard of Smithville; mother, Faye Pollard of Smithville; brother, Jerry (Armenta) Pollard of Smithville; special nephew, Alex Pollard; special niece, Tonya Roller; step-children, Karen (Michael) Caballero of Smithville, Dana (Jeremy) Maxwell of Virginia, Lori Lewis (Bret Boren) of Sparta; grandchildren, Gaberel Lewis, Cody Maxwell, Caitlyn Maxwell, Cameron Caballero, Madison Caballero, Malory Hamilton, and Dakota Boren; sisters-in-law, Betty Certain, Louise Jones and Virginia Jones; a host of cousins and friends.

Funeral services were held February 27 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Bro. Donald Haggard and Bro. Michael Hale officiated with burial following in DeKalb Cemetery.

DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville were in charge of the arrangements.
