Robert Jack Reed, age 85, of Smithville passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at the Quality Center for Rehab and Healing in Lebanon.

Mr. Reed was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and a dairy farmer for over 20 years. 

He was born June 12, 1939 to parents Robert Nile and Louise Willis Reed. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Sara "Ginny" Reed; son, Brent Reed; and siblings, Charlotte Reno, Gary Reed and Mikey Reed. 

He is survived by four children, Margaret (Doyle) Curtis of Liberty, Bart (Glenda) Reed of Georgia, Brian (Phyllis) Reed of Smithville and Barry (Angie) Reed of Smithville; 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. 

Graveside service and interment was Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at DeKalb Memorial Gardens with Bro. Royce Curtis officiating. 

Serving as pallbearers were Roy Self, Robert Reed, Josh Reed, Shaun Reed, John Reed and Brent Reed.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Highpoint Hospice or the charity of your choice, in memory of Mr. Reed. 

DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
