Funeral services for Rubye Margaret Rigsby Cook, 81, of Smithville were held Dec. 27 at the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bro. Don Rigsby and Bro. Michael Carpenter officiated with burial following at DeKalb Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Cook passed away Dec. 24 at her residence. She was a retired inventory clerk with DAB Industries and was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents Luther “Dude” and Sallie Pack Rigsby; husband Billy J. Cook; three brothers Elijah, Elzie and Grady Rigsby.
Survivors include her daughter Vickye (Jay) Smith of Liberty; a granddaughter Jayme Smith of Franklin; a grandson Jason Smith of Murfreesboro; two brothers Willie Lee (May) Rigsby and Jackie (Frances) Rigsby, both of Smithville; a brother-in-law Jack (Matilda) Cook of Alexandria; four sisters-in-law Jean Cook of Alexandria, Kathryn Cook ofNashville, Carolyn Cook of Hermitage and Irene Durso of Florida; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and special friend and partner for 12 years, Horace Howard of Dowelltown.
Pallbearers included Jason Smith, Jack, Lynn, Barry, Keith and Rodney Cook, Jackie Darrell Rigsby, Floyd White and Carl McBride. Her cousins served as honorary pallbearers.
Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
