Funeral services for William Schuylar Ellis, 89, of Liberty, were held Nov. 12 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Bro. Matt Long, Bro. Wilson Williams and Bro. Elmer Ellis Jr.  officiated with burial following in Pisgah Cemetery.   
Mr. Ellis passed away Nov. 9 at DeKalb Community Hospital. He was a farmer, a member at Pisgah United Methodist Church and attended Fuller’s Chapel United Methodist Church. 
 He was preceded in death by his parents, William Adamson and Ninnie Self Ellis; wife, Mary Virginia Ellis; son, William Schuylar Ellis Jr.; brothers, Elmer Ellis and Grady Ellis; sisters, Athalene Driver and Lorene Vanatta.
Survivors include three daughters, Lois (Wilson) Williams, of Liberty, Brenda (Skipper) Stewart, of Georgia and Deborah (Don) Castner, of Clarksville; grandchildren, Leigh Ann (Michael) Prince, Shasta (Billy) Stanton, Will (Dana) Stewart, Beth Castner, Matthew Castner; and great-grandchildren, Parker Prince, Bill Stanton, Ben Stewart, Ross Stewart and Ryder Stewart.
Pallbearers included Michael Prince, Will Stewart, Daniel Stewart, Matthew Castner, Jim Self and Robert Vanatta.
Serving as honorary pallbearers were Russell Estes, Jerry Montgomery, Donny Braswell, Grady Nixon Ellis, Gary Mathis, Billy Stanton, Glen Wilson, Tom Cripps and James Miller.
DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
