Wilma Sanders, 71, of the Short Mountain Community of Cannon County went home to be with the Lord Sunday afternoon, February 6, 2022, at her residence. 

 She was born March 12, 1950 to her parents, the late Robert and Cora Lee Underwood Prater.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by granddaughter, Heather Sanders; brother, David Prater; sisters, Novella Hodges and Carolyn Brown. 

 She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ. 

 Survivors include her husband of 57 years Lincoln D. Sanders of the Short Mtn. Community; children: Gary Douglas (Dorothy) Sanders of Smithville, Terry Wayne Sanders, Timothy Leon Sanders both of the Short Mtn. Community, Karen (Billy) Murphy of Florida, Denita Faye (Jesse) Roberts of McMinnville, Shonnie (Diane) Sanders of the Short Mtn. Community, Robert Nathan (Chen) Sanders of Murfreesboro, Vanessa (Steve) Murphy, Kathy Morton both of Smithville; brothers: Michael Prater of the Short Mtn Community, Danny Prater of Dowelltown; Sisters: Lydia Murphy, Doreen Murphy and Cheryl Prater all of McMinnville; 21 Grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.  . 

 Funeral service was held Wednesday at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. David Murphy officiating and burial followed in DeKalb Cemetery. 

 Pallbearers included Jesse Roberts, Terry Wayne Sanders, Jr., Isaiah Murphy, Isaac Sanders, Steve Murphy, and Dallas Murphy.

 DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
