Young

Funeral services for Sofia R. Young, 89, of Bartlett, a native of Smithville, were held Aug. 1 at the chapel of Love-Cantrell funeral Home. Father David Cooney officiated, with burial following at Whorton Springs Cemetery.

She passed away July 30 at her residence in Bartlett.

She was retired from FAA and attended St. Johns Catholic Church in Memphis.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernice Gray Young; parents, Frank and Pauline Dux Sabatka.

She is survived by two daughters, Karen (Jack) Tipton of Cordova and Sharon Davenport of Bartlett; four grandchildren, Joshua and Jessica Tipton of Memphis, Wesley Davenport of Cordova, Matthew and Ashley Tipton of Memphis and Sarah and Adam Ziegler of Clarksville; four great-grandchildren, Zachary and Mitchell Davenport of Rossville and Ross and Jack Tipton of Memphis.

Pallbearers included; Joshua Tipton, Wesley Davenport, Matthew Tipton, Adam Ziegler, Gary and Floyd Gill.
