Don't forget greatest Christmas present

The churches are busy finishing their musical and play practices. The little ones are getting to be shepherds and angels. The baking will start next week for the many that will be visiting in our home. We have several cakes that are a must for Christmas visitors at the Frazier house. The rum cake and coconut cake are two of our favorites. We always do several batches of Orange Slice cookies too. The recipe came from a dear lady to our family, the late Nadean Taylor. We remember her always having tons of sweets ready for anyone that might drop by their home during Christmas. Many of our dear loved ones have gone on, but we treasure our memories of them forever.

We are really enjoying Buddy and Deborah Fuson being home for Christmas. Gail Thompson recently visited and reported her husband, Tony, was doing well after his surgery. Keep remembering Boyd and Brenda Cantrell, Georgie Hawker, JoDean Redmon, Bobbie Jean Thomas, and Tony Thompson in your prayers.

All around us we can see the evidence that Christmas is coming. It is interesting to watch the TV mention Frosty, the Grinch, Rudolph, Scrooge and even Santa, but you never hear the true Christmas story. We want to always put the miracle of Jesus’ birth at the center of our Christmas celebrations. The real meaning of Christmas is that God gave us the greatest gift of His own son, Jesus. It is like any gift offered, it’s not your unless you take it. We think back at Mary and Joseph having such willing/servant’s hearts to be available for God to use them in a mighty way. We wish all of our readers a blessed Christ-mas Season and may God’s blessing be on you and yours.

You are always welcome to attend the Dry Creek Baptist Church, Dowelltown.

“For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.”
