Recently we heard of the death of long time evangelist Billy Graham. For many years his services were on television for families to view. We remember hearing the great Cliff Barrows, longtime music and program director for the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, start the invitation with Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me ... I once was lost but now am found, was blind but now I see. Hundreds of people would make their way out of their chairs to make the long walk to receive Christ as their personal savior. We are thankful today for Billy Graham’s and Cliff Barrows’ ministry throughout their life. They kept the faith and lives eternally with their Lord and Savior.
Jeanette France visited last week bringing a beautiful bouquet of her buttercups. We enjoyed her visit. This warmer weather has started everything to bloom out and green up. We noticed the large tree in the church yard is full of pink blossoms. The weeping willow tree’s tips are starting to sprout their green leaves. We hope there will be no more bad weather to harm all this new life.
Roscoe and Pauline Frazier visited last week and brought a sack of greens. Matilda Earl cooked them for us to enjoy eating for several meals. Thank you for your visit and the greens.
Recently Tucker Hendrix had heart surgery. Please help us pray for Tucker and his dear wife Carol. Jimmy Kimbrell has started a new treatment. He came for a visit last week and looked really good. Please keep Jimmy and Judy in your prayers. Kim Hale-Robbins is getting some therapy at NHC Healthcare. Please pray for Kim to be able to walk again soon. We were sad to hear our friend and neighbor Betty Mullican is sick. Please help us pray for her.
Ryan Magness was a recent Gideon speaker at the Dry Creek Baptist Church. We always enjoy the Gideon’s visiting every year and are happy to support that ministry.
We send our birthday wishes out to Edward and Edsel Frazier who are celebrating their 92nd birthday on the 13th.
Many people in the area enjoyed the play, Steel Magnolias, directed by Josh Isaac. Thank you to the cast and crew that worked long hours to bring that story to life. We heard the food was amazing. It was prepared by Donna Hendrix, a very talented cook. Thank you Josh for another wonderful adventure for the many DeKalb County people that attended.
Anna Bartlett Warner’s hymn, “Jesus Loves Me” reminds us all that we are never alone. God is always listening and attending to our ever need because we are precious in HIS sight and He loves us.
By grace you have been saved through faith. And it is not your own doing; it is a gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
