A letter to our community:
As two proud and grateful grandmothers, we wanted to express the depth of gratitude we feel for the many ways the DeKalb County community has supported the Class of 2020. This joint effort required hours of preparation and hard work of teachers, administrators, all other school system personnel, and volunteer parents, students, and other members of the community. These efforts made possible the Junior-Senior Prom, the Virtual Graduation Walk, the actual 2020 Graduation Exercises, and the Project Graduation. This outstanding cooperation helped make this interrupted school year meaningful and memorable for our DeKalb County High Seniors.
As two retired high school teachers, we realize that many who make these events happen do not often her “Thank You” for all they do for our children and grandchildren. Therefore, we take this opportunity to thank everyone involved, especially the teachers who teach not only textbook lesson, but also life lessons, who impart not only knowledge, but also in many cases, wisdom. As a result, they have helped to prepare these young men and women to move forward with the rest of their lives.
Again, we say a very heartfelt “thank you” to all who have participated in any way in making this school year a much happier and more enjoyable one for our granddaughter, a 2020 graduate, and for each member of the graduating class.
With sincere appreciation,
