To the Editor:
I am writing in regards to a story published in your newspaper. You even thought it deserved a part two.
I’m referring to your story about Frank Thomas. I wonder how well you research what you print. Obviously, not at all. Do you just take what a person says without any verification as to what type of person they are? Your reference to him as a "gentle giant" could not have been farther from the truth. Oh, I’m sure he was great in your presence, a real gentleman.
He is good at that.
He's good at putting on an act for people. To a lot of people, he is just a nice old man. Well, I have a little more experience that most on the subject of Frank Thomas.
Let me introduce myself. My name is Teena Thomas Street. Frank Thomas is my father.
I attached a pic to this email. Please do take time to look at it. He made the front page back in 2014 too. He was arrested for assault & reckless endangerment. The man he was chasing at speeds of up to 100 mph and shooting at was my husband, Dan Street.
Not much of a gentle giant on that day I would say.
He finally pled guilty and received his sentence of 11/29 in September of this year. Maybe you might want to do a follow up story and write about the real person.
You know little of Frank Thomas. You only know what he wanted you to see.
Hell, you could do a two-part front page story on all the negative aspects of Frank Thomas. The Frank Thomas that I know is a liar, a thief, a conman and a manipulator. He is an instigator, and lives to cause trouble for anyone around him.
He is an abuser of children.
I assume he didn’t mention that he even had children. My brother passed away in 2007. He had been mistreated and abused most of his life. He was only 42 years old.
Frank didn’t murder him, say with a gun or knife, but he killed him just the same. When Frank said he dug all those graves by himself, that’s an outright lie.
He worked my brother like a dog as soon as he was old enough to work. He made my brother get out and dig those graves by hand, no matter the weather, whether he was sick or well. At this time, he called his grave digging business "Thomas and Son Grave Service."
I was abused also all during my childhood. For many years, the memories of my childhood were tucked safely away. As an adult, when the memories of what a monster he is came back to me, I have had nothing to do with him. I haven’t had a conversation with him since 2004, and never will again.
My husband and our family live in Dowelltown. The main reason for this email is to request that you spend more time investigating what you print in your newspaper. A little time spent would have made a big difference in this case. Your portrayal of him is more than incorrect, it’s sickening to anyone who knows the real Frank Thomas.
Sincerely,
Teena Street
