The Tennessee Team Pride 6th Grade Basketball Team competed in the AAU DII 6th Grade National Championship, held in Franklin during the week of June 23rd. The tournament consisted of 36 teams from all across the US.
The Pride girls went 6-1 throughout the week with their only loss coming in the National Championship game. They defeated the GA Pistols, Indiana Blizzard- Blast, ELC, TN Lady Trotters, Ohio Phenom, and Heart of IL before falling to Indiana Blizzard- Stein in the Championship game.
The girls played well throughout the tournament, and it was a great experience for all. They were awarded with "Great Eight" shirts, Final Four bags and headgear along with medals, and the Runners-Up trophy.
This Tennessee Team Pride team was coached by Gaylon Sissom and consisted of players from Cannon, DeKalb, Putnam, Grundy, and Wilson Counties.
