DeKalb County High School’s Kayley Caplinger was honored Friday night as the newest member of the 106-9 Kicks Country Hall Of Fame honoring outstanding student athletes across the Upper Cumberland.
Caplinger, a member of the DeKalb County Tiger softball team, received a plaque Friday Night during the Kicks Country • Lite Rock • Rock • News Talk Football Friday Tailgate Party prior to kickoff.
The award, presented by Cookeville’s Sam’s Club, recognizes outstanding student athletes who also perform in the classroom, in the community, and in a leadership role within the student body.
"We are excited to honor outstanding young men and women across the Upper Cumberland each Friday night," Cookeville Sam’s Club Manager Chastity Pyatt said. "Serving this entire region means a lot to our entire team."
DeKalb County High School will receive a $250 community grant from Sam’s Club in Caplinger’s honor.
Caplinger is a straight A student in the classroom, and is also a leader on the softball diamond. Her all around leadership is why she’s been nominated to receive the Hall of Fame nomination.
