DCHS honored one of its longtime basketball coaches last week, by naming the DCHS basketball court Coach Harold Luna Court.

From 1964-69, Coach Luna led both the girls’ and boys’ teams, taking his first Tigerettes team to the State Tournament in 1965, where they finished fourth overall. Luna won over 100 games during his short tenure as Tigerette coach, and added over 400 more wins as coach of the Tigers from 1964 to 1984.

Coach Luna’s sons, Bradley “Buck” Luna of Smithville, and Rocky Luna of Omaha, NE were present for the renaming of the court between the home games between DeKalb and Cannon County on Monday, December 9.
