Cross Country Teams Compete in Murfreesboro

The DCHS and DMS Cross Country teams traveled to Murfreesboro Saturday, September 14th, to compete in the Siegel Invitational at the old VA golf course in Murfreesboro. The 5K course consisted of rolling hills and plateaus that challenged runners from twenty-one high school teams across the mid-state.

In the high school boys Varsity, Ben Driver led the Tigers with a solid performance of 19:57, followed by teammates Cale Brown 22:51, Kaine Salas 24:06, Ethan Spears 25:55 and Michael Gamble 28:20.

Freshman,Vaden Trexler, led the JV boys with a time of 26:59 while teammate Dan Rodgers followed with 32:30. 

Mylie Phillips paved the way for the Varsity girls with a PR this season of 24:12.  Emily Fry and Madeline Martin rounded out the team with times of 25:45 and 29:23.

Several personal records were set In the middle school races!  In the boys Varsity, 8th grader, Lucas Cable, led the Saints with  PR of 13:21, followed by teammates Ty Arnold PR 14:57, Landon Brown 15:38, Kaden Mullinax 15:39, Josh Ross PR 15:40, Aiden Cook 16:04, Samson Chittwood 16:50, Carter Moore 17:20, Brien Rivera PR 18:34 and Evan Sims 18:57.

In the girls JV race newcomer Bailee Ferge, had a top 10 performance, finishing 3rd overall with a PR of 16:58, followed by Kielee Hargrave PR 20:22, Leah Chittwood PR 20:54, and Sophia Pina PR 23:55.

Both highschool and middle school will travel to Cookeville on Thursday, September 19th, for the MSCCA mid-week race after school.
