The Lady Tigers started strong with a 17-12 first-quarter edge and kept it going to the half, leading 26-17 at the break.

“I thought the kids played well, played hard and were really energized,” said DCHS Lady Tiger Head Coach Danny Fish.  “I thought we had some good contributions up and down the board. Mya had a great game tonight. Lydia was pretty solid and we did a lot of different things. I’m just really proud of the kids; they played hard and they deserved to win this game.”

Lady Tiger Lydia Brown led the offense with 12 total points in the contest, followed closely by teammate Mya Ruch with 10 points.

DeKalb did well from the charity stripe as well, adding 11 points from the line going 11-for-14 with Ruch and Emme Colwell hitting 4-for-4 and Brown was 3-for-3.

Rounding out the total tally was Colwell with 7 points, Leah Davis 5, Megan Walker and Mallori Hart each with 4 points.

Emma Edwards led the scoring for Watertown with 12 points.

Although the Purple Tigers took a 12-8 first-quarter lead, they got into hot water in the second quarter seemingly unable to avoid foul trouble.

The Tigers made them pay for their mistakes, shooting 24-of-28 from the charity stripe. Tiger Tanner Poss was a foul magnet as he hit for 11-of-12 free throws, going 6-for-6 in the fourth quarter. Poss also made Watertown suffer by dialing long distance for 15 points in the contest and was the game-high scorer with 28 total points.

Making up the rest of the Tigers' offense was Trey Jones with 11 points, Colter Norris 10, Nathan Atkins 9,

Marshall Evins 8 and Dallas Cook had 1 point.

Austin Lasater was Watertown’s top scorer with 15 points.
