The DeKalb Youth Baseball Major League All-Stars will be preparing for post-season play.



DeKalb Youth Baseball held their awards ceremony last Thursday evening, honoring the top teams and many outstanding players this season. Due to the threat of rain, the event was held at the DeKalb Community Complex, rather than on the field. Since Senior League started their season late, awards for that league will be presented at a later date.

In the individual awards, the Most Valuable Player award went to Colt Quarles of the Tigers in Coach Pitch, while Keegan Taylor of the Yankees was named MVP in the Minor League. Nick Murphy of the Cubs was announced as MVP in the Major League.

The award for Best Pitcher was presented to Keegan Taylor of the Yankees in Minor League, while Luke Johnson of the Cubs was honored on the Major League.

Aiden Cantrell of the Tigers was awarded the Gold Glove award in Coach Pitch, while Collin Donnell of the Braves was presented the award in Minor League. Ben Driver of the Tigers received the Golden Glove in Major League.

The Eric Midgett Sportsmanship Award was presented by Jimmy Midgett and Mary Ann Smithson to Cooper Robinson with the Braves in Coach Pitch, while Eli Colwell of the Yankees was named in the Minor League. Cooper Goodwin of the Cardinals received the award in Major League.

The Mike Williams Memorial Batting Champion award was presented to Braxton Knowles with the Braves in Coach Pitch, Zander Simpson of the Yankees in Minor League, and Nick Murphy with the Cubs in Major League.

League President Casey Midgett, and his wife Levaughnda Midgett, were presented special awards for their dedications and support to DeKalb County Youth Baseball.

Team awards were also presented during the ceremony, with the Braves taking first place in Coach Pitch, while the Tigers took second. The Pirates took third place, while the Yankees were fourth.

The Yankees took the top spot in Minor League, with the Braves coming in second, the Rays third, and the Rangers taking fourth place.

The Cardinals won the Major League title, with the Tigers coming in second, and the Cubs taking third place.

Tournament Champs were also named with the Yankees winning in Coach Pitch and the Braves coming in second, and the Braves winning in Minor League and the Yankees taking second place. The Major League tourney was cancelled due to weather.

After the team and individual awards were presented, the league All-Stars were announced.

In Coach Pitch Sawyer Hendrix, Braxton Poss, Noah Wiley, Aiden Cantrell, Colt Quarles, Maddison Quarles, Archer Jones, Everett Jones, Cooper Robinson, Conner Robinson, Braxton Knowles, and Ayden Buchanan were named.

The Minor League All-Stars were Hayden Quarles, Eli Colwell, Zander Simpson, Keegan Taylor, Rylan Vinson, Gavin Frazier, Austin Parker, Collin Donnell, Skylar Herriott, Brantley Brooks, Hayes Kent, and Landon Holmes.

The Major League All-Stars were Luke Johnson, Silas Kirksey, Nick Murphy, Cooper Odom, Anthony Moore, Ben Driver, Porter Hancock, Reed Midgett, Carson Davis, Anderson Fortner, Andrew Cathey, and Cooper Goodwin.
